CALL FOR DONATIONS FOR JAMES DOTY MEMORIAL CLOCKS
A memorial to James Doty consisting of two large clocks are to be installed at the front and rear of the historic L Street Bathhouse in South Boston, MA
We are asking for donations for two large memorial clocks in memory of the man who restarted the Boston Light swim, the open-water swimming legend, Jim Doty.
One thing Jim Doty always wanted was a large clock on the ocean side of the L Street Bathhouse so that the swimmers could tell the time from the water.
We have arranged with Electric Time Company of Medfield to manufacture two beautiful clocks in Jim’s memory to be mounted on the front and rear of the bathhouse along with a commemorative plaque.
As the details are still being finalized, manufacture and installation of both clocks is expected to cost between $8,000 and $10,000. Any donation you can afford in Jim Doty’s name will be sincerely appreciated!
